Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The stats of an item are improved through upgrading it, which is also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment increases the stat linearly.
Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain an ability to gauge the level of each of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases with their rarity and item level.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade of an item can be a method to boost the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be done through various methods that include the use of upgrade components and also increasing an item's mark level or rarity. A lot of items can be reforged in order to increase their value.
Upgradeable items are available in the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be created by players. Upgrade components are the primary method of upgrading equipment. These are the items that slot into equipment. Most equipment has slots to upgrade, and many require a certain amount of upgrade. Some upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while other components offer general bonuses.
There are a variety of upgrade elements available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments, can be put on any type of equipment and offer lower bonuses than upgrades that are specific to equipment. Glyphs can be placed in gathering tools, and provide numerous bonuses, from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to providing additional crafting materials.
To upgrade an item, simply select it in your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right-hand side of the screen. It will show the expected stats after the upgrade. If you don't have enough of either the two, the Upgrade button will show as Blocked.
The upper-right side of the screen shows the number of upgrade components needed for the specific item. The price of an upgrade increases depending on the rarity and level of the item increases. However, you can reduce this cost by purchasing upgrades from a vendor or trading them with other players.
Most weapons can be upgraded with the use of a prefix upgrade for example, an insignia or a rune, and many are upgraded by suffix upgrades. These upgrades alter the name of the item and add an adjective, like 'Radiant' or 'Minor Vigor. The only exceptions are the non-inscribable weapons, such as shields and foci from Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any kinds of mods in any way.
Glyphs
Glyphs are a powerful tool for communicating visual information. They move to catch the viewer's attention and spur curiosity in the brain. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language, making them more effective in conveying a linguistic barrier-crossing message. Glyphs can also enhance the recall of a message by evoking an experience of familiarity in the brain.
Each glyph can increase the value of a stat by specific amount. This is shown on the item, when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is the highest value that the glyph can enhance a stat by, not the amount that it actually increases it by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and quality of the item you are in awe of it.
Most upgrade components inserted into items are not able to be replaced or salvaged without removing the gear in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use, but it's not been applied to the gear yet, you can transfer the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu in the Glyphs Panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
If you are looking to remove a glyph from an item, you will need to salvage it using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. This will destroy the item within which it is placed but you will be able to salvage the upgraded item using the glyph and its shards, therefore, it shouldn't be considered as a loss.
If you take an item off after putting a glyph on it, the shards that are part of the glyph will vanish. You can also add an inscription on your equipment to provide an additional benefit. Deferred Damage, for example can store damage, and be distributed slowly to the wearer instead of all at one time. This can be helpful for those who take many hits from enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens are used to alter the affixes that are placed on equipment and weapons. They can be obtained from various sources, such as mystery boxes and rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Each reroll token gives the player a new random affix, which is usually superior to the original. Reroll tokens can also be used to upgrade weapon stats for more damage or bonuses.
Rerolled items don't appear in the menu of upgrade options, however they can still be upgraded. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button which alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to recycle. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. The amount is by the item's rarity and its level. Therefore, items that are higher level are more valuable to recycle than those with lower levels.
Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls are based on a % chance for a weapon's trait. If it scores higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.
Rerolls are a good option for upgrading an item, but players should be aware that it could reduce the total ilvl of the weapon based on the number of rerolls used in order to increase it to the final level. upgrade item is evident on Diadems and Rings, since they have no other options to raise the ilvl.
Some players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It's more fair to let people pay for it using money or food items that would allow them to make changes to their builds without spending too much time. However paying for rerolls is not something that the developers would like to incorporate at this point in the game's development. Instead, they plan to include an ability to change races in the near future.
Leveling
There are many ways to boost the value of an upgrade for an item. The most effective method to level up an item upgrade is by increasing the upgrade amount. This boosts the upgrade value for any stat. The second option is to increase the effect of an upgrade, which increases the healing or damage for a stat. Finally, there is item upgrading to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. Once this is done, the new item will keep its iLevel however it will be upgraded with the effects of the upgraded type of item.
When upgrading your items It is crucial to remember that upgrades aren't always planned. In the majority of cases, a better roll is determined by glyphs. However there are instances where a higher or more special roll could occur. The type of the item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a unique or rare item to a specific item type, it's likely to receiving an upper level.
The cost of upgrading items can be expensive especially when you're upgrading an item of gear from the normal to the legendary track. upgrade item will depend on the item's base iLevel and the amount of upgrade levels it offers. In addition, some upgrade tracks require crests to achieve the next upgrade level.
If you're fortunate, your upgraded item may reach the maximum level on its upgrade track and unlock an additional benefit. This will provide the item with a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect is different with each upgrade level. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased a value of +3.
Based on the item's base level and upgrade process, the iLevel for the upgraded item will also change. For example an item upgraded from a rare or unique item to an outstanding one can be expected to gain the enhanced defense of the new base item.
